New Toy

Shannon got a new toy for her birthday. It is a Magic Gears Junior Enginner Tool Kit.

Rachel had more fun in playing with it than Shannon. It's alright as I have bought it with the intention of having them share and play together.

Mummy's Little Helper

Rachel can be quite a handful but at the same time an angel at times. I was busy in the kitchen one day and it was time for Shannon to have her porridge. She happily picked up the spoon and volunteered to help me feed Shannon and she did such a good job!

I remembered when I was expecting Shannon and asked her questions such as whether she looked forward to have a little sister and how was she going to help look after her sister. She replied she would help bath her, feed her, change her diaper, play with her....thank you mummy's little helper!

24-Month Milestones

At 24 months, Shannon is able to:

• repeat words she hears
• use short phases of 2-3 word sentences
• recognize names of familiar people, objects and body parts
• follow simple instructions
• jump with both feet off the ground
• go up and down steps
• take off her pants
• brush her teeth
• take off her shoes
• find an object if you hide it
• sort objects by shape or colours
• play make-believe
• open doors
• kick a ball forward
• hold a pen (in a correct writing position) and scribble on paper
• indicate to us if she wants to urinate or have a bowel movement. She is off diaper during day time.

Shannon turns 2!

Shannon turns 2 on August 11! We held a small family celebration 2 days earlier to celebrate Shannon's birthday, belated birthday for my mum and Singapore's 44th birthday.

Shannon is already joining in the fun that her sister and cousins are having. She wants a share of everything that the older children do. I'm glad she has a group of cousins and sister of close age group to play and grow up with.
