We have finally signed Shannon up for her 1st enrichment class at Little Neuro Tree. She took a short while to warm up but was really enjoying herself at the end of the lesson. The methodology, class structure, teaching materials of LNT are similar to that of Shichida which Rachel attended for slightly over a year when she was 2. However, the course fee is 3/4 of Shichida's. LNT focuses on right brain training of children between 3 months old to 6 years old using very creative teaching materials. I was pleasantly surprised with the standard and quality of the teacher at LNT. I will recommend LNT to my sister for Elysia.

At 24 months, Shannon is able to:
- repeat words she hears
- use short phases of 2-3 word sentences
- recognize names of familiar people, objects and body parts
- follow simple instructions
- jump with both feet off the ground
- go up and down steps
- take off her pants
- brush her teeth
- take off her shoes
- find an object if you hide it
- sort objects by shape or colours
- play make-believe
- open doors
- kick a ball forward
- hold a pen (in a correct writing position) and scribble on paper
- indicate to us if she wants to urinate or have a bowel movement. She is off diaper during day time.
Little Words & Actions
At 17 months, Shannon is able to do:
- walk steadily.
- climb up and down steps.
- kiss on the cheek when asked to.
- wave bye-bye and do "friend-kiss" when asked to.
- pick up a rubbish on the floor, go to a dustbin and throw it inside when we say "pick it up and throw away".
- lift up her clothes when we say "change change".
- brush her finger downwards against her cheek when we say "shame shame".
- point her finger to her hair clip on her hair when we ask "where is mei mei".
- point her finger to her forehead when we say "pain pain".
- point to a photo frame with her sister's photo inside and say "jie-jie".
- point to a Pooh Bear sticker on the bathroom glass panel when asked "where is Pooh Bear".
- put her finger on her lips and say "Shhhh" when she sees someone sleeping.
- tap her hand on her chest to tell that she is scared.
These are the word(s)/phrases Shannon can say at 17 months:
- jie-jie (first person to learn to call)
- ma-ma
- pa-pa
- mum-mum (for eating)
- 1, 2, 3
- ball
- bear bear
- wo-wo (for dog)
These are my lovely angels:
Bite, bite!
Yippee! My teeth (yes, it is correct. Not tooth...) finally popped out from my gums. Two of them came out about the same time. Amazing, right? That was why I drooled very much recently and kept licking my gums with my tongue.

I have some questions that I hope you can help me to answer:
1. Is it normal to have 2 teeth growing out at the same time?
2. Why do they come up from my lower gums and not my upper?
3. When can I chew (like baby biscuits)?
4. When should I start brushing my precious new teeth?
5. When will the rest of my teeth grow?
6. How many teeth will I have by the time I turn 1 year old?
Peas Porridge Hot
Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold
Peas porridge in the pot 9 days old
Some like it hot, some like it cold

Mummy started me on porridge about 1 week before Chinese New Year. From just a tiny mouthful of rice cereal early this year, I moved on to bigger (mouthful) of food. I can now finish a whole bowl of porridge. Yummy!
97...98...99...100!!
Wow! That was tiring. It is no mean feat to do 100 push ups everyday, you know. Well, not that I did it continuously but I think the number is very close for the number of times I lift myself up each day and night. Every night Mummy puts me into my baby cot to sleep, I will turn and toss over in no time. And I will start my push up routine. Healthy lifestyle starts from young. :p But if Mummy catches me doing this during bedtime, she will then turn me over on my back again. And it repeats until the next morning.
Sit Up
I am now over 6 month's old. Let's see what I have learnt recently. I can sit up on my own but only for a few seconds before I fall forward on my head. Could it be because I have too much food inside my head? Mummy feeds me lots of milk and porridge everyday. Maybe I should learn how to jump, then the food will drop into my tummy or my bum-bum. That should help me to sit better. Any other helpful tips, please?
Rock and Roll
"Why such a long silence?", asked my fans.
That is because I have been busy learning how to roll over. It was not easy at first. Each time Mummy placed me on my back on my tiny cot, I would wriggle around. Then, with a little more twist and turn, I could flip around and rest on my chest... with a hand pinned underneath though. Still figuring out how to pull it out.
Any ideas?
